About the recent debut Berlin debut screening event:

Natürlich, the event that served as the debut presentation of this project, took place in the magical city of Berlin: the chosen home to the artist & the breeding ground of this intimate insight into the creative community that has enabled him to grow and develop in his personal artistic journey.

The event included multiple screenings of the short film and additionally:
The first preview & pop-up installation of the fashion collection
Music for the evening provided by Electrosexul (aka Romain Frequency)
Exclusive new choreography delivered by Kevin Bo
An overall celebratory energy and a sense of community spirit that will naturally lend itself to all sorts of spontaneous performative moments.

Further plans for future events to present this project in other cities as well as screenings at various upcoming film festivals throughout the remainder of 2022 are in the works.

About the overall DIVINE LUST project:

The overall conceptual design for the project was conceived ahead of the pandemic – following his debut fashion endeavor “Untitled: (BITCH)” – and the film itself was shot at the now-defunct KAKE (part of the complex of DIY studios and event spaces along Ziegrastr. 11 in Neukölln) back in early 2020. The aesthetic design of the pieces of the fashion collection was conceived in late 2019 and fabricated just ahead of the shooting of the short film, but of course the collection of garments that make up this collection now will also include pieces which have been fabricated over the past two years.

DIVINE LUST explores Anthony de Bono's interdisciplinary artistic practice; the ongoing result from this endeavor includes the creation of a short film and a coinciding fashion collection, then the experiential events which will take place to present this project will incorporate Anthony's practice of conceptualizing physical installation pieces, along with his curatorial work and creative direction practices in bringing together collaborators from a collection of diverse folks from his underground queer Berlin community to execute the entirety of each of these one-off event experiences for this project.

In his own words here, Anthony notes specifically about his intentions with the short film: “Creating a visual experience of intimacy and collaboration within Queer culture — with the stark reminder that existence is political.”
